Patients who are happy with the clinical and interpersonal skills of their doctors
comply more readily with treatment and return to work and other daily activities with
confidence. They also get well much faster. Doctors who have confidence in their local
network peers tend to refer appropriately and accept patients in a timely manner. All of
this adds up to a tremendous savings in excessive procedures that don't have to be provided,
wage loss that is not paid, oversight that does not have to be conducted, and productivity that
is not lost.
None of this happens by accident.

Putting together contracts that meet the needs of both medical providers and payers isn't always easy.
But if you want a network that works, responds and does what needs doing without a lot of hassle,
contracting is where it all begins.
You won't see the actual work that it takes to forge good agreements, but you will see the results.
That's why we fashion our agreements with the utmost care. We set standards to ensure that each contract
is fair and protects both parties. We research applicable laws to make sure that everyone remains in compliance.
And we carefully wrap it all up with lists of duties and responsibilities that clearly spell out what each of us
needs to do in order to give our patients the kind of timely, professional care that they deserve.
Contracts can be tedious and time-consuming. But it seems that more things go right with a good contract than could
ever go wrong without one, or worse yet, with a bad one. Spending time forging good agreements also shows our
providers that we care and that we mean business…good business for everyone involved.

The PMG Credentialing Review Committee consists of select physicians and risk managers who review applications,
documents and past histories to ensure that each provider meets our initial criteria, and continues to do so
through periodic recredentialing reviews.
Credentialing involves collecting and inspecting the applications, licenses, certificates and other necessary
statements provided by doctors who want to participate in a particular program or plan. The second step, verification,
involves independently verifying all of the information provided by the doctor in order to prevent possible fraud or abuse.
