Managed Behavioral Health Program For Workers' Compensation

Many enlightened employers provide mental health benefits and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) to improve employee satisfaction, productivity and work force stability. However, when one of these same employees get injured on the job, even necessary mental health care or counseling is often avoided due to the highly confidential nature of the treatment and the potential impact on settlement and other costs.

Avoiding a problem doesn't make it go away, nor does it make it any less expensive. That's why PMG has instituted a managed behavioral health program for workers' compensation (WCMBHO). The WCMBHO consists of a network of psychiatrists and psychologists who are trained in workers' compensation managed care and overseen by a Psychiatrist Medical Care Coordinator.

The purpose of this program is to provide essential psychiatric care in network and to identify those situations where psychiatric care is not necessary or is no longer appropriate. The program is particularly helpful in those files where claimant legal representatives demand psychological evaluation and treatment.
